Work

I work for the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds, GKV-Spitzenverband.

Before I was a PhD student at Humboldt University Berlin. My advisor was Gavril Farkas. I was part of the IRTG "Moduli and automorphic forms", of the Berlin Mathematical School and of the SFB Space – time – matter. My research interest was in algebraic geometry, specifically in moduli spaces of curves and syzygies of curves and abelian varieties.
From September 2015 until February 2016 I was staying at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. My advisor there was Carel Faber.

From November 2016 to February 2017 I was a guest researcher at the Riemann Center in Hannover.

Notes

A poster on the birational geometry of modular varieties that I presented at the AMS Summer Institute 2015 in Salt Lake City: pdf (created using TikZposter)
An updated poster, presented during the onsite visit of the scientific evaluation committee of the IRTG 1800 in Berlin: pdf
A more introductory poster on the same topic, presented at the 4th Heidelberg Laureate Forum: pdf

Some (lecture) notes that I have typed up over the years. If you find mistakes (including typos) I would be happy to hear about them.

2016 IRTG Student Conference

Miguel Grados and me organized the first student conference of the IRTG 1800 on 3 September 2016 at the Mathematical institute of Leiden University.
The official webpage of the conference can be found here.

"What is ...?" seminar

The "What is ...?" seminar is a weekly seminar organized by students for students. The goal is to make accessible ideas from all over mathematics, often as an introduction to subsequent colloquium talks. Students also have a chance to train their presentation skills in a relaxed atmosphere.
Visit our vimeo channel here. Don't hesitate to contact us if you want to give a talk or join the organizational team.
